(Ricinus communis) Introduced into English gardens in the 16th century. Stately quick-growing ornamental plant with tropical appearance. Large red-tinged foliage and brightly colored seedpods, a real head-turner. Listed in 1896 catalog of R. & J. Farquhars. Seeds and seedpods are poisonous—please use caution! Annual, 6-8' tall.

Great color and texture for the garden


This is a phenomenal annual for the garden, IF you do not have small children or pets that might eat the seeds as they are poisonous. that said, the colorful large textured leaves are a fantastic addition. seeds germ fairly easily with warmth underneath.
