This pepper is: SWEET

Bell peppers are sweetest when they mature to a full red, but the crunchy green flesh is a great addition to many savory dishes. You can stuff peppers with quinoa, rice, or a mixture of cheese and beans and bake or cook rings of pepper in a skillet with a fresh egg inside.

Roast your red peppers over a burner or under a broiler, then peel and puree with hummus or slice and add to grilled eggplant and mozzarella sandwiches with fresh basil.

Growing Instructions

Instructions - Sow seeds indoors ¼” deep. Peppers germinate best in warm soil, so gentle bottom heat may be helpful until seedlings emerge. Wait to transplant outdoors until soil is warm.

  • Start Indoors: 8 weeks before last frost
  • Germination: 14 Days
  • Plant Outdoors: 12-24” Apart
  • Light: Full Sun

Large thick sweet red peppers, Beautiful plants

by

I tried Marconi Red Pepper seeds last year (2019) & we loved the taste of this pepper. Even when it’s green, it taste 100% better than any sweet red pepper from a store. The seeds germinated well & the plants are hardy. I purchased the seeds for 2020 & the plants are growing well. I also used some of the 2019 seeds & those are doing great. We didn’t get a huge amount of peppers from each plant, but the thickness/taste out does a different large seed supplier’s banana peppers. Six weeks later, the plants are approximately 7 inches tall. One leaf I measured is 4” long by 3” wide. They still have about 2 weeks before going into the garden. I highly recommend these.

This became a regular in our garden

this is a repeat for us, good producer, a bit slow to get going, but productive later in season. Great for pasta sauce and freezing. meaty flesh, skins come off ealisy, very sweet taste.

An easy grower with excellent numbers and flavor!

Put these in the garden for the first time this year, spring, 2021, and am not disappointed! Excellent hardiness and flavor. Even after getting them in the garden a little late in the season, they thrived and produced in spite of the TX heat. These will become a 'norm' in the garden, right beside the Golden Treasure peppers.
