From Our Collection

Seed Savers Exchange preserves approximately 20,000 varieties in our seed bank, including rare heirlooms stewarded for generations within a family or community and historic commercial varieties introduced to the seed trade before 1950.

Every year, our preservation team evaluates a selection of these varieties by growing them out, adding more seeds to our inventory in the process. When varieties are determined to be a strong performer in the garden and pass our taste test, they are offered here in our catalog, for all to enjoy, along with a bit of their story.

Our primary purpose as a nonprofit is to steward this incredible collection. And nothing feels more like success than getting these varieties back where they belong—in your garden and on your table.
