Instructions - Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep. Tomatoes are sensitive to freezing temperatures, so wait to transplant outdoors until the soil is warm. Plant in full sun.

This breed made me an official tomato enthusiast
This was my best performer in my first year of seriously growing tomatoes. I grew them in straight compost that I allowed to cook off for a month. The seedlings were all strong but had some purpling that went away after moving outside. I had very few problems with acclimating them to the outside (and I went early). Buried the entire stem up to the top foliage and they took off like a rocket. I got rid of the first buds and tried to be very careful about getting rid of the crotch shoots but these plants got so bushy that I constantly missed them and some got over a foot long before I noticed. I had leaf curl on all my other plants but not the Redfields. I companioned with lettuce and basil and I had them watering on a timer. They were my best producers and I was getting fresh tomatoes into early November! The taste is just right - not spectacular but good enough by far to eat sliced with a little salt, and I didn't feel bad about freezing most of them.
I’ve been growing Tomatoes for 20 plus years, and I finally found my favorite. Very vigorous plant that puts out lots of tomatoes on one plant. I’ve planted mine very deep with just a little a tomato top showing and it just took off. I live in middle Tennessee and I will always have this red field tomato in my lineup. Very pleased with this tomato, great slicer or just cutting up and putting salt on it.
