(Dalea purpurea) Bright purple blossoms mid-summer through fall. Stunning when planted with Butterflyweed, Black-Eyed Susan, and any of the shorter prairie grasses. An important prairie legume that fixes nitrogen in the soil. Grows 1-3' tall on most well-drained soils ranging from dry sand to clay. Perennial. Hardy to zone 4.

Germination: 10-20 Days

Plant Outdoors: 12” Apart

Light: Full Sun

Instructions - Sow seeds indoors just beneath surface of soil. Transplant outdoors no later than August 1 to ensure good root development. Also easy to grow when direct seeded into a weed- free seedbed in mid-spring to early summer. Very drought tolerant once established.

Fast Germination!

I wasn't expecting to see anything for at least a week, but within 24-48 hours after planting they were already making their way out of the soil! Now, a few days later there are many little happy seedling fully up! I'm so excited for these little guys to flower this summer!
