Never sprouted

by

I received the seeds on the 3rd of August. It is now the 30th and none of the seeds have sprouted/germinated, even though the packet they came in said it takes 10-14 days to germinate. I followed the instructions on the packet and even did some of my own research to make sure I was doing everything right, to no avail. I was so excited to grow snapdragons, but I guess that will have to wait for now.

Patience pays off

I sprouted these indoor per instructions this year, and they eventually grew and were beautiful in a large pot, but the sprouts were remarkably tiny and took forever to grow to the size you'd normally find for sale. My tomatoes were outside for weeks while these were still barely a few inches tall. Will grow again, now that I know what to expect

Only one seed actually sprouted. Very disappointing.

Exquisite colors, prolific reseeders, somewhat perennial

by

I purchased the tetra mix seeds 3 years ago and started in trays on my patio table. They thrived in my zone 5 butterfly garden here in the Chicago suburbs but the real surprise was that between 50% to 75% of them survived the winter. I cut them back hard in the spring to just a few inches high and once it warmed up, they took off growing The plants that are three years old are robust and lush, and have been blooming for weeks. The plants that sprang up from seed are just now blooming and will provide blooms while I cut the older plants back. The hummingbirds love the snapdragons and I love the variety of colors while I wait for my summer flowers to kick in.

Beautiful Flowers and Can be a Perennial

by

Snapdragons (for me) have always been troublesome to grow from seed, but sometimes you want something other than the generic big-box store varieties. My Tetra snapdragon seeds did take a bit of coaxing, but most of the seeds sprouted, and most of those sprouts made it to flowering, and the colors were gorgeous! I'm in zone 7a and the largest plant overwintered outside, through frosts, snow and hard freezes. I even transplanted it in the spring to a new location, and it started blooming earlier than the majority of my perennials. Definitely planning to start more seeds next season, and hopefully get another perennial oe two out of them.

A favorite for longevity, color variation and pollinator popularity

These were lovely in the garden. Although they were a bit challenging from start- they stayed small while all else grew. A few weeks after transplanting they took off. They bloomed very late into the season. 'm in zone 4A and they lasted well into November to my surprise.
The range of colors was so fun and the bees, wasps and hummingbird moths loved them as much as me.

These are my favorites

Good germination, started indoors in February under lights, zone 7a. Bloomed the whole month of June into early July in the prettiest mix of colors.
