Hot climate approved.

Zone 6 high altitude desert

This is the BEST LETTUCE I have ever grown. My climate is not great for spring veggies (currently it’s April 1, snowing And a low of 26 tonight, yesterday was sunny (intense sun) and almost 80) This lettuce doesn’t bolt or get bitter until July’s triple digit temperatures ) I always let a few go to seed and every spring it self sows generously. A definite buy for hot climates

Tough germinator, best heads ever.

I love this variety and have grown it for 4 seasons. I have consistently had a problem with seed germination, this last season (2021) was the worst. I planted seeds directly in beds and also started seeds indoors in starter trays. I got zero germination in the started trays and very little germination in the garden. The fully grown heads are the very best but I am discouraged by poor yield. I may have to move on from this variety.

Missouri winner!

This is my favorite lettuce. By letting some go to seed, I get some volunteers every spring. I love looking for the little plants to transplant into my salad bed. It does take a long time to germinate for me when I plant from seed. Very good butter lettuce flavor, mild.

Love this lettuce, it’s a breeze to grow, I start them ahead in plugs for planting out. The heads are absolutely beautiful and the leaves are buttery and mild. It’s currently the end of May here and I’ve been eating salads everyday for 2 weeks.
