Item Details
(aka Scotch Flag) Scottish variety introduced in the early 1800s. Enormous leeks that are 9-15" long by 2-3" in diameter. Tender white stalks, dark blue-green fan-shaped leaves. Mild flavor, stands winter well. Good buncher for market gardens. 80-150 days from transplant. ±9,700 seeds/oz.

Instructions - Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep and space 1" in all directions. Transplant as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Hill or mound soil around stems several times to blanch as leeks grow.

Hardy and tasty

Grew well in rocky soil with hot summers. Nice, thick stalks and great flavor. I overwintered them in the garden along a south facing wall with no other protection in temperatures that dipped below zero a couple of times. Grew back the following spring with no problems.
