Put heritage breeds to work weeding, controlling pests, and improving soil quality. This workshop will discuss techniques for gardening with poultry, including selecting the best breeds for your gardening needs.

After the workshop, learn a bit about the history of Seed Savers Exchange and get an in-depth garden tour.

Jim is the Seed Savers Exchange Facilities Manager. His responsibilities at Heritage Farm include facilities management, livestock care, and management of our 890-acre grounds. Jim lives at Badger Ridge Shetlands, where he and his wife raise Shetland sheep and a variety of heritage poultry.

Heritage Farm is just outside Decorah, Iowa. Getting here is pretty straight-forward.
