Sunflowers do best when planted directly into your garden soil after the last frost of your spring season. Pick a spot that will have full sun, well-drained soil, and that is protected from the wind to grow your sunflowers. We recommend planting your seeds about 1/2 of an inch deep, 6 inches apart and in rows that are 24-36 inches apart. The sunflower seeds will germinate in 10-14 days and should be mature in about 75 days.
