Standard Domestic Shipping and Handling Charges for Seeds and Merchandise:

Transplants
Transplants will ship weekly beginning April 21 through May 19, 2014.

Please mix varieties as you like, but order in increments of six to best utilize packaging. In the event we are unable to ship your order by Wednesday of the week you have indicated (freezing temperatures, etc), we will ship the following week.

Plants cannot be shipped to PO Boxes, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, APO or FPO or Overseas.

Potatoes
Seed Potatoes will ship beginning March 17, 2014 and continue until we are sold out.

We will prioritize orders for warmer zones to ship first, and will avoid shipping to cooler zones until threat of freezing has diminished. We are no longer requiring you to specify a ship date.

Potatoes cannot be shipped to Mexico, Canada, Alaska, APO or FPO or Overseas.

Garlic
Garlic will ship beginning September 8, 2014 and continue until sold out.

If you find a particular variety is listed as Sold Out, please check back in August to see if more garlic is available based on our actual harvest.

Garlic cannot be shipped to Mexico, Canada or Overseas.

Return Policy / Shipping Information

Return Policy

Within 30 days of purchase, or receipt, you can return any non-perishable item for a full refund (excluding shipping charges if any), provided the product or item is unused or undamaged (in new condition & in its original packaging).

Return Policy for Perishable Items

We guarantee the perishable item to be in good, viable condition when we sell it. We strongly encourage you to inspect all items carefully upon receipt. Should there be any quality issues, you must notify us within 3 days of your receipt to request an exchange or refund excluding shipping charges if any). Beyond 3 days from date of receipt, perishable items are non-refundable. Perishable items will ship separately from seeds and products.

Shipping Information
Orders ship via standard USPS or UPS (FedEx if requested).

Expedited Delivery online or phone orders only (3-DAY, 2-DAY, and Overnight within the continental US excluding Alaska & Hawaii): Your package will be delivered in three, two, or one business day (M-F) after leaving our warehouse.

Expedited Deliveries take 24 hours to leave SSE’s warehouse (orders placed after 12:00 p.m. CST will be processed the following business day). We DO NOT ship expedited Saturday delivery.

Shipping to Hawaii & Alaska
Orders will ship to these locations via USPS Priority Mail. Perishable items cannot be shipped to these locations.

Shipping to Canada
Orders will ship to this location via USPS Airmail. Perishable items cannot be shipped to Canada.

Turnaround Time and Back Orders
Orders with all items in stock will ship within 5 business days (varies by season). Back orders ship when our inventory is replenished and credit cards will be charged at time of shipment.

Tracking Your Order
When shipped UPS (or FedEx by request) a tracking number will be emailed to you the day your order is shipped.

Receiving Your Order
Please open the package upon receipt and inspect the content against the packing slip. Notify us immediately of any items that are missing or damaged. Please do not discard any damaged items or shipping materials. The shipping carrier may require an inspection prior to approving any claim.

International Orders and Shipping Information

General: SSE is pleased to offer our extensive range of vegetables, flowers, herbs and gardening merchandise to our international customers. In order for SSE to quickly and efficiently ship your orders, please check with your Ministry of Agriculture for current import restrictions or for necessary permits required for importation before placing an order for seed. Please send all correspondence in English and provide us with your telephone number, fax number, e-mail address and be sure to let us know the preferred method of communication. E-mail is by far the most efficient manner of communication for us. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing on all international orders.

Minimum Orders: For all international orders there is a $100.00 USD minimum.

Shipping: All retail international orders are subject to a 10% handling fee in addition to the actual shipping/freight costs, this does not apply to wholesale orders. SSE will send all orders by USPS (United States Postal Service) Standard Airmail or Global Express unless other arrangements are requested. SSE is not responsible for lost shipments, confiscated items, delayed orders, duties or taxes.

Phytosanitary Certificates: Buyers will pay the actual costs of phytosanitary certificates if required for delivery. The standard rate for an official phytosanitary certificate from the United States Department of Agriculture is $50.00 USD. Some shipment may require two certificates, if the shipment contains seed grown in both the USA and seed grown abroad. If this is the case, then the fees will be $100.00 USD.

Additional Declarations: If additional laboratory testing is required to issue a phytosanitary certificate (for example, Erwinia Stewartii, Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens or Xanthomonas campestris) buyer will pay the actual laboratory costs.

Payment: All international orders must be paid in advance. Credit cards are preferred and SSE can accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Please contact us for other payment arrangements.

Bulk Orders: All wholesale prices are listed online per variety.

Policy for shipping SSE's Color Seed Catalog outside of the USA:
Due to the high cost of printing and postage we must follow the rules below for sending catalogs overseas.

1) Catalogs will only be sent to customers who have purchased over $100.00 USD in the previous calendar year.

If you have not purchased from SSE in the previous calendar year:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALES

General: All prices given in USD. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Payment: All opening orders must be pre-paid. Subsequent orders will be on Net-30 terms. In the event of a late payment, a 1.5% monthly (18% per year) interest fee will be applied. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express accepted. International Orders: For all international orders there is a minimum order of $100 USD required. All orders below $100 are subject to a 10% fee. Shipping Rates: All orders are FOB – Decorah, Iowa – USA. Buyer is eligible for discount rates below, if order is over $1,000 USD. Actual shipping cost will apply and a 2.5% handling fee will be added.

Returns: Seed is non-returnable except with pre-approved authorization from Seed Savers Exchange. There will be a restocking fee of 20% on all returned orders. Terms of Photography Usage: All images provided are the copyright protected property of Seed Savers Exchange (SSE). SSE grants you the right to use these images provided you take all reasonable steps to protect the images from unauthorized use or copying. SSE requires that the images are used ONLY to promote seed that was purchased from SSE and the SSE’s varietal names are labeled clearly and properly.
