(Capsicum pubescens) The most unique pepper that we offer. Velvet-leaved
plants with large purple blossoms and black seeded
fruits. One-inch round green peppers ripen to a
vivid red. Requires an extended growing season
with long day lengths and cooler temperatures than
other peppers. Best grown in containers on a porch
or other shaded area. Peruvian in origin. 95-130
days from transplant. VERY HOT
8 weeks before last frost
Green Thumb Tip Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep. Peppers germinate best
in warm soil, so gentle bottom heat may be helpful
until seedlings emerge. Wait to transplant outdoors
until soil is warm. ± 3,500 seeds/oz
