(Brassica napus) (aka Ragged Jack) Originally from Siberia, brought
to Canada by Russian traders around 1885. One of
the hardiest and most tender of all kales. Beautiful
purple-veined blue-green leaves tinged with
reddish-purple. Frilly leaf margins resemble oak
leaves. Vigorous 18-36" plants. Mild sweet flavor.
Hardy to -10°F. 50-60 days from transplant.
6-8 weeks before last frost
Green Thumb Tip Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep. Plant out just before the
last frost. Kale is most tender and delicious after a
frost. Harvest can continue even after snow. ± 10,000 seeds/oz
