(Tithonia rotundifolia) (aka Mexican Sunflower) Fiery orange 2-3" flowers
attract lots of butterflies all summer long until
frost. A favorite because of its extended bloom
period. Nice for fresh arrangements. Branching
plants grow 4-6' tall. Annual, 60 days.
6-8 weeks before last frost
Green Thumb Tip Sow seeds indoors on surface of soil. Transplant
outdoors after last frost. Can also be directly sown
outdoors after last frost in warmer areas. Prefers
any light soil; quite drought tolerant. This variety
does not produce edible seed.
