Great color and texture for the garden

by

This is a phenomenal annual for the garden, IF you do not have small children or pets that might eat the seeds as they are poisonous. that said, the colorful large textured leaves are a fantastic addition. seeds germ fairly easily with warmth underneath.

Attractive and functional

by

I have been growing these in Aiken, SC for about 10 years.
Sandy soil
Good ornamental and for providing shade to plants that need it.
I place them here and there along the wood line to deter moles in the garden.
I put the seeds in the mole tunnels and have them popping up here and there in the yard and transplant them while small.
I let the garden have a rest last year and had quite a few volunteer plants.
With good water and soil fertility, plan on 3 to 4 foot diameter foot print and prune if you need to.
