Learn to Grow it
This crop does not transplant well so make sure to plant seed potatoes in your garden as soon as the soil can be worked (about 2 weeks before the last expected frost date).
You should plant your potatoes about 6 inches deep and 12-15 inches apart. As you plants grow, pile more soil at the base of the plant to protect the tubers from sunlight.
Make sure that your soil is well fertilized as this crop is a heavy feeder and takes a lot of nutrients from the soil. Consider adding compost to the soil the year before you plant.
The tubers/potatoes start to form after the plant's flowers bloom. If you are growing potatoes to store over the winter, wait to harvest them until the vines have started to die back at the end of the season.
