The leaves of radish plants are edible and can be boiled to improve the texture.

When storing radishes, make sure to clip their tops so that the roots will last longer in storage.

Great Germination After Being Mistreated

by

Bought these seeds last year, misplaced the packet, found them a week ago. I direct sowed them and rather than take care to plant them neatly I just tossed the seeds into the bed, lightly covered them and watered. I was surprised to find that there is nearly 75% germination! Of course they are crowded in some spots, but I'm thinking about just leaving them be. Since they're doing so well after having been mistreated, I'll plant them properly next year and I'm sure they will do so much better.

Decent and different

by

Solid germination rate, quick growers. Hotter than expected, they are not a mild radish. Greens are good. When they grow like the picture, really nice root. But, they are prone to irregular twisted growth even in loose soil. If allowed to go too long, they get pithy instead of getting bigger, so they really are a fast turn around crop.
