28th Annual Convention
July 18-20, 2008
SSE's 28th Annual Convention will be held on the weekend of July 18-20, 2008 at Heritage Farm, six miles north of Decorah, Iowa. Up to 250 people attend the two-day celebration which includes speeches, slide shows, tours, demonstrations, workshops, seed swap, barn dance, lots of good local food, and nonstop conversation and fellowship.
Saturday's Keynote Speaker
Lynne Rossetto Kasper
We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker for this summer's Annual Convention will be Lynne Rossetto Kasper. Lynne is the host of Public Radio's The Splendid Table, which has been named "Best National Radio Show on Food" by the James Beard Foundation, and "Best National Syndicated Talk Show" by American Women in Radio and Television. Lynne's first cookbook, The Splendid Table: Recipes from EmiliaRomagna, the Heartland of Northern Italian Food, is the first book to win both the James Beard and Julia Child/IACP Cookbook of the Year Awards. She is a riveting storyteller and we are honored to have her join us in July.
